BREUNING WINS AT GATEWAY, STRONG RACE FOR RANDY DALE, BAD LUCK FOR PATRICK DAY AND BILL COLLEY!

Pole sitter Patrick Day and Marc Breuning had a good shuffle for the lead for most of the race, which heated up the closer they got to the finish. Unfortunately, Day lost his car coming off turn two when on the inside and collected the unlucky Bill Colley in the process.

The final yellow, about 8 laps before the end, brought Randy Dale into the lead. He gave Breuning a good run for his money, but couldn’t keep the #61 behind him. Breuning took the win, Dale finished a strong 2nd, Day third; Les Benz finished 4th and Chris Brown picked up 5th place points despite major issues just by hanging in there!

PATRICK DAY WINS POCONO BY A NOSE LENGTH!

Pole sitter Patrick Day had a bit of an odd start to the race, trying to top off on the early (and only) yellow. At the front, drivers remained disciplined, and the battle really started after the pitstops; Breuning lost his 2 plus second lead due to the pursuers working together very well. Once Day got alongside, Breuning washed up just a little and when they touched, he saved it but dropped to 4th, Too far back to catch back up.

At the front, the battle heated up, it was Day grabbing the win by 0.006 from Bill Smithem and third was Bill Colley. Breuning was 4th, 5th was Robert Love.

PATRICK DAY GRABS ROAD AMERICA!!!

Although initially pole sitter Rick Ravon ran away with the race, on lap 22 the #1 car gave up with a puff of smoke out the back end. Ravon had blown his engine and everyone was puzzled how that happened. The last few laps Day and Breuning tossed it up for the race win, but it was Day that came out on top with Breuning just not having the edge to make anything happen in that final lap. Bill Smithem rounded out the podium once again, followed by Ian Wilson and Larry Eaglen.
