PATRICK DAY HOLDS THEM OFF!

It was Don Warren that took the pole, but he scraped the wall early on. It were Day, Breuning, Smithem and Miller battling wheel to wheel all race long, with Warren recovering and mixing it in there as well, until he did the same thing again later. At the end, it was Day that took the win by 0.08 over Breuning, with Miller close in 3rd and Smithem in 4th, still within 1/2 a second of the winner. Charles Harris rounded out the top 5 in a caution free event!

PATRICK DAY CONQUERS WILLOW SPRINGS!

Pole sitter Patrick Day led flag to flag at Willow Springs, initially followed by front row starter Breuning. On lap 5 Breuning blew the engine going in the first turn and had to pit for repairs. That opened the road for Mike Erter in 2nd and Charles Harris in 3rd. Breuning managed to bring it home in 4th after the repairs, ahead of 5th place Jeff Bruno.

PATRICK DAY HOLDS IT TOGETHER AT MILWAUKEE

Pole sitter Mike Erter had a good thing going once the race started, were it not for a technical issue setting him back. Patrick Day happily took over the reins, with Breuning in pursuit. A back marker crashing almost took Day with him, but he kept the damaged car going at good speed, with Breuning following.

Going wide he had to let Brent Cook by and then messed up an overtaking attempt to get 2nd back. Bill Smithem took advantage of that for 3rd.

Day won the race ahead of Cook, Smithem, Don Warren and Phil Peterson.

PATRICK DAY TAKES INDY!!!

Patrick Day started from the pole, flanked by Breuning. The race at the front was close with these two, Mike Erter and later Donald Warren. On lap 73 the battle up front was disrupted, when Warren and Breuning touched lightly, sending the latter into the wall. With Day, Erter and Warren at the helm, that’s how they finished. Jim Wardlow was 4th and Les Bentz was 5th.

BREUNING WINS LONG BEACH

Pole sitter Patrick Day led the first 5 laps until he slightly misjudged the turn one entry and touched the barrier. It allowed Breuning to get by and he led all the way to the end. Mike Erter was 2nd and Patrick Day lucked in when Bill Smithem lost his 3rd place to him in the closing stages of the race with a braking error at the end of the back stretch. He dropped behind 4th placed Rod Potgieter to finish in 5th.
