RAVON DOMINATES AT BELLE ISLE

Rick Ravon started from the pole in Detroit and never looked back. Breuning followed him from his front row start but was never fast enough to threaten. Behind there, Patrick Day fell victim to someone spinning in front of him, which handed 3rd place to Brent Cook. Day, who had dropped to 6th, worked his way back to 4th and Bill Smithem rounded out the top 5.

PATRICK DAY HOLDS IT TOGETHER AT MILWAUKEE

Pole sitter Mike Erter had a good thing going once the race started, were it not for a technical issue setting him back. Patrick Day happily took over the reins, with Breuning in pursuit. A back marker crashing almost took Day with him, but he kept the damaged car going at good speed, with Breuning following.

Going wide he had to let Brent Cook by and then messed up an overtaking attempt to get 2nd back. Bill Smithem took advantage of that for 3rd.

Day won the race ahead of Cook, Smithem, Don Warren and Phil Peterson.

RAVON DOMINATES AT MILWAUKEE!

Rick Ravon returned for another race at Milwaukee and qualified 2nd behind pole sitter Danny Passmore. He did have a good start and took the lead at the flag. It was Day that followed him in 2nd. Passmore held on to 3rd until he pitted, after the pitstops Breuning moved up into the final podium spot and that’s how they finished the caution free event. Rafael Rodrigues finished 4th and Passmore 5th.

PATRICK DAY TAKES INDY!!!

Patrick Day started from the pole, flanked by Breuning. The race at the front was close with these two, Mike Erter and later Donald Warren. On lap 73 the battle up front was disrupted, when Warren and Breuning touched lightly, sending the latter into the wall. With Day, Erter and Warren at the helm, that’s how they finished. Jim Wardlow was 4th and Les Bentz was 5th.

RICK RAVON CLAIMS ANOTHER AT INDY!!!

Qualifying proved to be very close, with all drivers that recorded a time within a second! It was newcomer Greg Keppel that claimed top spot.

The racing was close throughout the field, and some found out the hard way that it can be too close. Points leader Breuning made a mistake in turn one, thinking he was clear but clearly wasn’t.

A late yellow bunched up the field behind Bruce Clingan. With one final lap dashing for the win, it was Rick Ravon that timed his pass perfect and beat him to the line by 0.039. Bill Smithem was a strong 3rd, Robert Love and Eric Kulaga rounded out the top 5, both having a strong race at the Brickyard.
