Karl Villeneuve started from the pole on the tisty and bumpy Belle Isle track but fell victim to trying too hard on cold tires. Breuning almost did as well and that made Bill Smithem the early leader, until Bruening passed him on lap 3 and remained up front. Rafael Rodrigues worked his way to 2nd, while Villeneuve made it back to 3rd position at the end!

It was Karl Villeneuve that placed his #27 car on pole, but it was the #61 of Breuning that led more than half the race. Rafael Rdorigues came on strong just past mid race and passed Breuning for the lead as Breuning was headed to pit road. With all the pitstops out of the way, it was Rodrigues that was leading, Breuning 2nd and Villeneuve lost a few laps with issues in the pits.
A late yellow – the only caution in the race – brought the field close together, but Rodrigues was too fast for his pursuers, with Breuning barely holding off Smithem at the line!

Surprising pole sitter Les Bentz was a force to be reckoned with early in the race, but during the 2nd half of the race it was Chris Brown, Karl Villeneuve, Rafael Rodrigues and Marc Breuning duking it out. Villeneuve lost touch on the lead lap and fought hard to get his lap back. Chris Brown lost his chance when he speeded on pit road, so the finale was between Breuning and Rodrigues. Breuning made a daring move on lap 87 on the inside of Brown, who was also fighting to gain back his lap. In turn 3 they touched, Brown washed up and gather up Rodrigues. It appeared that Breuning had it covered, but a late yellow brought back Villeneuve on the lead lap. A one lap shoot-out saw Breuning, Forrester and Villeneuve fighting for the win, with Forrester and Breuning touching in turn four it was Villeneuve that took his red 27 to victory lane.

Rafael Rodrigues and Chris Hamelink started on the front row, with Karl Villeneuve and Bill Smithem behind them.
The caution free race saw Rodrigues and Villenueve battling for most of the race, with Hamelink and Smithem right behind them. Pitting last of the leaders on lap 60, Smithem once again fell afoul of the pit speed limit, ending up two laps down after his stop.
After the stops, Rodrigues and Villenueve traded the lead for the last twenty laps, with Rodrigues taking the win by a nose.
