DAVID COOKE INCHES TO A WIN AT POCONO

It was close all night between the top drivers, Breuning starting from pole alongside Cooke, but Smithem, Sprechini, Wright, Kiefer and others were all in the mix up front. The pitstops under green pulled the field apart a little, leaving Breuning and Cooke to battle for the win. A late race caution meant a one lap shootout for the prizes; With Breuning starting in the lead, Crooke got him out of turn one. Breuning didn’t have enough momentum out of two to get to his inside in three and had to settle for 2nd behind the new Retro Cart League Champ! Chris Augustine was 3rd only a few car lengths back, ahead of Wright and Sprechini.

David Cooke has secured the Season 11 championship, congratulations to him!

PODIUM FINISH FOR STEVEN KIEFER AT MID OHIO

Pole sitter Marc Breuning took the lead and never looked back, staying ahead of Bill Smithem, Steven Kiefer and Charles Harris at Mid Ohio. Unfortunately a very small field, but it was good practice as always in the Lotus 49!

COOKE TAKES MID OHIO IN BLAZING PACE!

David Cooke started from pole position and pulled away instantly. On lap 3 he already clocked a lap faster than his pole time and was gone! George Sandman, who qualified on the front row, had Breuning behind him but the #61 driver dropped off little by little and. When Sandman made a mistake coming onto Thunder Alley, he managed to take 2nd, but then handed 2nd back to Sandman when he did the same thing on lap 30. It was Cooke, Sandman, Breuning at the end, with Mike Erter and Don Warren rounding out the top 5 in a 15-car field.

BREUNING WINS POCONO

Starting from the pole, Breuning was among several drivers having a good chance of winning the race at Pocono; Bill Smithem was in the mix until a slight touch with Breuning sent him into the wall. Mike Erter was in the mix as well as Warren Rodgers until they got together in the heat of the battle. Ultimately, it was Breuning and Warren that were going for the win, with Warren scuffing the wall on the last turn, denying himself a good run at the top spot. He had to settle for 2nd, followed by Smithem, Rodgers and Kiefer.

ANOTHER DOMINANT WIN FOR DAVID COOKE!

Starting from the pole, David Cooke had no competition. Breuning and Smithem swapped position on lap one twice, both fighting cold tires, but it was Breuning that took 2nd. He was no match for the leader and ended up the only driver that wasn’t put a lap down.

Don Warren was 3rd, Sprechini and Kiefer rounded out the top 5.
