Rick Ravon returned from a season’s absence in the Long Beach Grand Prix to take pole position and the win. Another driver returned to the series: Sean Langton, starting alongside Ravon on the front row and following in 2nd, running fast lap after fast lap until he finally choked on the turn leading onto the back straight. His car was damaged, and he unfortunately dropped to 5th, handing Breuning 2nd. Bill Smithem returned to the podium; Patrick Day finished 4th after some trouble in the opening stages of the race.

Patrick Day took the pole for the Season 8 opening round at Phoenix and took the lead early on. Him and Breuning diced for the lead, but unfortunately net code threw a wrench in it and cause the pole sitter to crash. He continued with his fast repair to finish 6th. Breuning was then coming under pressure from Stuart Wright, but he kept the #61 ahead. The podium was rounded out by Randy Dale. Fourth was Larry Eaglen and Bill Smithem took 5th having had a fueling issue after he mingled with the leaders earlier.

Breuning started from the pole and led all the way, with the only other title contender being Rafel Rodrigues in pursuit. On lap 17, Rodrigues was frustrated with a backmarker and took to retaliatory action, after which he abandoned the event. He was DQ-ed from the event.
It opened the door for Bill Smithem to take a strong 2nd place and Philip Peterson brought it home in 3rd.

Although Breuning started from the pole and took an early lead, it was Rafel Rodrigues that took his car to victory lane. Breuning messed up early on – and again later – and was lucky to bring it home in 4th. Patrick Day had another stong running, but Rodrigues was too fast for him and he had to settle for 2nd. Bill Smithem returned from absence with a strong 3rd, rounding out the podium, with Chris Brown scoring a 5th.

Title contenders Breuning and Rodrigues both appeared to have technical issues that prevented them from participating in quyalifying, in which Patrick Day took the pole honors.
Breuning worked his way forward and in the 2nd half of the race, a battle for the lead emerged with Day. When Day brushed the wall coming off 2, Breuning overdid the avoiding maneuver, got on the grass and crashed. Only thanks to the fast repair did he manage to remain on the podium, Patrick Day took the win ahead of Randy Dale. Behind Breuning, Chris Brown and Ian Wilson rounded out the top 5.
