The INDY 100 started with a full field of no less that 27 cars and turned into a great event. Led by pole sitter Darryl Wineinger, the race started a bit slow with a few early yellows. Once it got going and everyone got into their groove, there were close battles all around, some misfortunes and crashes, but at the end the 4 front runners crossed the line 4 wide with less then 0.02 between them. It was Mike Weisberg that inched ahead of them all by 0.001 ahead of Rick Ravon.

Rick Ravon started from the pole and led all the way to take the spoils of victory, followed by front row qualifier Johnny Hamby and Marc Breuning in 3rd.

Tom DeSelms and Mark Kielblock livened up the race with a long running battle in midpack

Retro CART Season 6 is underway with our first race at Phoenix. Rick Ravon picked up where he left off with a win from the pole. Johnny Hamby was 2nd and Bill Colley was 3rd, with a late race incident shuffling the drivers outside the top 3.

Rick Ravon started from the pole and led flag to flag at Laguna Seca in the season finale with the Championship already wrapped up. Breuning dropped to 6th on the 2nd lap when hitting a curb in turn 2, but worked his way back to 2nd. Wade Tschida ran strong but was set back by a speeding penalty on pit road, handing 3rd to the ever consistent Bill Smithem.

Season 6 will start in 2 weeks, hope to see you all back again.

With one race after today’s Watkins Glen outing, Rick Ravon has been crowned the Season 5 champion. Closest Rival Breuning had to win the race to maintain any sort of chance but he lost it on lap 5 and unfortunately took Johnny Hamby out with him. That opened the doors for Chris Hamelink – returning to the series – to grab 2nd and Charles Harris to claim 3rd
