TAYLOR JORDAN DOMINATED BELLE ILSE

Taylor Jordan qualified on pole and once the green flew, he didn’t look or hold back. He was pulling away instantly and while George Sandman had good pace and ran the fastest lap a few times before it was all said and done, he couldn’t reel in the leader. Behind Sandman, the ‘2nd league’ was led by Breuning in 3rd. Patrick Day recovered to 4th from an earlier contact with the wall and Bill Smithem rounded out the top 5.

TAYLOR JORDAN WINS AT GATEWAY!

Starting from Pole Position, Taylor Jordan was a factor at the front of the field all race long and he wound up leading the most laps as well. As always at Gateway, the racing was close, fast and furious. At times a bit too close. Several yellows slowed down the pace, but the green flag would ignite things instantly.

A late crash between Colley and Smithem caused the race to finish under yellow, with Taylor Jordan leading, Don Warren in 2nd and Breuning in 3rd, both a lap down from earlier problems. Craig Hawkins and Bill Colley rounded out the top 5.

RODRIGUES SURVIVES INDY BY 0.007!!!

Rafael Rodrigues qualified on the pole of a strong 24 car field for the Indy 100. As usual the racing was very close and some drivers were probably too ambitious too early. There were several yellows following pile ups, because if something goes wrong while racing in a close pack, it goes wrong big.

At the end, only three drivers survived the mayhem: Rodrigues, Craig Hawkins and Patrick Day, who duked it out for the win clean and respectful. Rodriguez beat Hakwins to the line by 0.007 of a second, with Day right on their tail. Of the 24 cars started, 3 reached the finish line with 0.08 of a second!

Pederson and Shinoski were 4th and 5th, though not rolling at the end.

DAVID COOK RETURNS IN TOP FASHION!!

David Cook returned to the league with a blistering pole position, making no secret of his intentions: He led the race flag to flag and won with dominance.

Darryl Wineinger, who started alongside on the front row, chased him in 2nd position. Breuning took 3rd at the start but touched the inside wall of the hairpin on lap 2 and spun; He had to wait for the entire 18 car field to get buy and had his work cut out for him. Patrick Day was happy to take 3rd, while Matt Shinoski finished a strong 4th and Don Warren rounded out the top 5.

BREUNING WINS IN THE DESERT!

Returnee Donald Strout took the pole position at Phoenix, with Patrick Day in 2nd. Breuning and Eaglen shared the second row on the grid. As always, the racing was tight on the 1-mile oval, with all four drivers chasing each other closely. Day and Strout took themselves away from that action by pitting early, will Breuning and Eaglen stayed out.

More cautions brought it all back together. On lap 63, Breuning and Strout touched, sending both to the back of the lead lap after pitstops. Breuning benefited from a gap on the high side on the restart, making up 3 spots.

A late yellow on lap 71 took the back markers to the back of the line, with Breuning and Day fighting for the lead and Peterson and Forrester doing the same for 3rd. Day, having sustained minor damage from the cause of that final yellow, saw Breuning take the win by 0.043 of a second while Peterson snatched the final podium spot from Forrester.

Although Breuning started from the pole and took the lead initially, Darryl Wineinger took advantage when Breuning spun around coming out of the corkscrew on lap 9 and never looked back. Both pitted a few laps earlier than him and when the pit stops were done, Breuning was in 2nd with a 4 second deficit on the leader. Smithem was 3rd, Erter 4th and Phil Peterson scored a 5th place after a strong a consistent race..
