Surprising pole sitter Les Bentz was a force to be reckoned with early in the race, but during the 2nd half of the race it was Chris Brown, Karl Villeneuve, Rafael Rodrigues and Marc Breuning duking it out. Villeneuve lost touch on the lead lap and fought hard to get his lap back. Chris Brown lost his chance when he speeded on pit road, so the finale was between Breuning and Rodrigues. Breuning made a daring move on lap 87 on the inside of Brown, who was also fighting to gain back his lap. In turn 3 they touched, Brown washed up and gather up Rodrigues. It appeared that Breuning had it covered, but a late yellow brought back Villeneuve on the lead lap. A one lap shoot-out saw Breuning, Forrester and Villeneuve fighting for the win, with Forrester and Breuning touching in turn four it was Villeneuve that took his red 27 to victory lane.

Rafael Rodrigues and Chris Hamelink started on the front row, with Karl Villeneuve and Bill Smithem behind them.
The caution free race saw Rodrigues and Villenueve battling for most of the race, with Hamelink and Smithem right behind them. Pitting last of the leaders on lap 60, Smithem once again fell afoul of the pit speed limit, ending up two laps down after his stop.
After the stops, Rodrigues and Villenueve traded the lead for the last twenty laps, with Rodrigues taking the win by a nose.

It was David Cooke that qualified on pole, with Ravon alongside him. But into the first corner, Ravon took the lead, while Breuning managed to get lost in the 2nd corner and dropped from 3rd on the grid to last in line.
Several close battles emerged but Cooke was unlucky and dropped back. Karl Villeneuve worked his way back from an early spin to grab second, while Breuning was lucky to inherit 3rd after an incident between Hamelink and Rodrigues.
Rick Ravon takes home the Season 6 championship. Johnny Hamby is 2nd and Marc Breuning is 3rd. Full results will be posted.

Rick Ravon took win number 7 of the season at Watkins Glen, but it must be noted that the competition is heating up. Johnny Hamby qualified in 2nd spot and David Cooke 3rd, with Breuning in 4th. Hamby and Cooke battled for 2nd – which did slow them down a little from Ravon, but they definately had the pace. Cooke made it past eventually and Hamby ran into bad luck later in the race. Karl Villeneuve benefitted from Breuning’s spin after being hot on his tale for 5 or 6 laps to claim third place!

Rick Ravon secured the pole position, the race win and the Season 6 championship at New Hampshire tonight. Many drivers were fighting tire wear more than usual on short ovals, Rodrigues scored a solid 3rd place with a strong second half of the race behind David Cooke. Bill Colley also ran a strong performance finishing just outside the top 5 in 6th.
With over 50 points of a lead in the standings, Ravon clinches the season 6 title, but the runner up spot is still open, with Hamby needing good finishes to keep his advantage. The final two rounds are both road courses.
